Union Street, the shopping centres and the run of shops, bars and places to eat are about twelve minutes on foot, and the railway station about sixteen — so the things you do most days are a walk, at any hour, without waiting for anything.
The universities are the other way round. Neither is walkable, and Homes for Students publishes no walking time for either, so the table beside this one gives the three journeys people actually make. Around the corner
North East Scotland College's Aberdeen City Campus on Gallowgate is about twenty-five minutes on foot or seven by bike. Aberdeen Beach is a walk the other way, and the Maritime Museum and the Art Gallery are both in the centre. There is secure bike storage in the building, and parking for an extra charge if you bring a car.
